Life is a jelly bean

Life is like a box of chocolate.
I think life is like a box of bertie botts' every flavour beans.
It is totally unpredictable. Here some of the unpredictable events that come to my mind in these past few months:

1. One of my fave bands has totally turned me off  from their music. It started when the guitarist of the band left it without any explanation at all. I thought that their music will still be good. However, it is not my taste after all. It is a haunting music for me. It is good for them, but not for me. It is sad because I cannot hope any music that will be the same as the previous album. The other thing that totally turns me off is their attitude. I heard many not-so-good stories about that, which makes me goes ummmm. So long Mr. H's band! I hope the best for your career!

2. One (well not one, it is actually several, probably I also include in this list) of my friends has a severe fangirling over a genre that you never imagined when you were still at high school. By fangirling, it is not only "Wow I like that song" attitude, but also .. *KYAAAAAAA* *OMG* *WHY IS HE SO CUTE?* *TUMBLR* *insert not focusing on assignments here* *exchanging pictures* This is so cute though, especially they love the same guy at the same boyband. If I have a time machine, I probably use it to tell the 15 years old version of them and let the little version of them to be freaked out. BAHAHA.

3. Couples alert. Weird couples. Mean-to-be couples. Life is simply funny. That "it" couples broke up and the unpredictable new ones. Oh life.

4. My path of career. Still a big question mark here.


Well, I hope 2013 will bring more surprise (in good ways) for us! Happy Chinese New Year by the way! It's a snake year!

Sorry for not updating you for a long time.

Namun saya merasa, perlu rangkuman tahun 2012 ini..

2012,
I've been able to go home! yay setelah nyaris 2 tahun di negara orang. It was nice catching up with people that I've missed. Tapi, 4 months seemed too long.

I've been able to go to Thailand with my friends! naik kereta berjam2 sama mas2 olenjut disambung bus berjam2 ke phuket, jemuran di phi2, jetot sm taksi bangkok, gempor jalan. Can't wait for our next adventures.

I've been able to graduated and earned my diploma.

but the highlight for 2012 is...
I've been able to FANGIRLING!

TIFF 2011

It all began when Andri randomly checked the website of Toronto International Film Festival 2011 at beginning of August. Ewan's movie had been listed as one of the movie who would have the world premiere in that festival. However, the title is really strange. Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. It was so awkward and we always make fun of that phrase until our last day in Berkeley. When I went back to Toronto, I found out that Ewan McGregor himself will make appearance for premiere of this movie at TIFF and the date is 10 September 2011, which is Saturday. I told Andri about this and she was so excited to go to Toronto. After that, I need to buy single premium tickets for Salmon Fishing in the Yemen at Sep 3, 2011. Ticket sales opened at 7 am, and it was so hard to buy tickets. Luckily and maybe I can call this miraculously, I could log in to the website and bought tickets for Salmon Fishing. Andri and Raissa arrived at Toronto nearly midnight of Sep 10, so we went directly to hotel and slept for 4 and half hours. At 7 am, we were already at subway to pick up our tickets. In the ticket box, we also wanted to buy ticket for Ides of March (George Clooney, Ryan Gosling) or 360 (Rachel Weisz), but those two were already sold out. In the end, we bought Wuthering Heights, a newest adaptation from Emily Bronte's novel. After breakfast, we went to Eaton Centre and looked around (shopping too) for 2 hours and went back to TIFF Bell lightbox to watch our first movie, Wuthering Heights. It is a beautiful movie with the scenery and it is more humane than the novel version. After that, we have late lunch at Korean Barbeque and more window shopping before we headed back to the Princess of Wales Theatre for Salmon Fishing in the Yemen. When we reached Princess of Wales Theatre, we were surprised by the queue line to get into the theatre. We underestimated this movie. To get into the theatre, we needed to queue two blocks and again, miraculously, we got the third row from the stage because Andri forgot to bring her glasses. I could not stop giggling when Andri saw Ewan from 10 metres away. Her face was epic. Too bad, we did not have chance to take photo with him. The movie itself was funny and ironic. It is not as absurd as I thought it would be. We had late dinner at Spice Route which was really full, so we did not really enjoy the atmosphere there. Too bad. The last stop for that day was karaoke at Finch. We payed for 2 hours, but we got free hours, so in the end, we stayed 3 and a half hours there. The day after, we checked out from the hotel and ate brunch at Salad King, downtown then headed back to Pearson Airport. We planned to attend James Franco and Gus Van Sant discussion of their artworks at TIFF Bell Lightbox, but we overslept. I guess it is better to meet (or see) JF with Babad, so just wait (maybe next year if she makes her Canadian visa) Thanks for Andri and Raissa for super fun weekend! I hope I can go to NYC soon!

#ninikelilingamerika season 2: SF-Berkeley-dan sekitarnya

Halo semuanyaaaa gw baru balik dari liburannnn! dan sekarang saatnya cerita!
Jadi ceritanya, karena liburan gw dengan baiknya dimajuin jadi dari july, jadi gw memutuskan buat visit (baca: gangguin) Andri, Babad, dan Armand yang lagi summer session di UC Berkeley.

Day 1: dengan semangat 45, gw udah bangun jem stgh 5 pagi buat siap-siap berangkat ke airport! jam stg enam pun gw sudah siap naik taksi ke airport dan sekitar jam stg 7 udah masuk nunggu di abis periksa2 security. cepat bukan hahahahahha! lalu jeng jeng pesawat gw delay 1 jam an, uda cukup bikin bete. Terus akhirnya bertemu dengan mereka- mereka yang uda lama banget ga ketemu itu seru banget! Terus abis naro koper di rumah tantenya babad, langsung ketemuan sama angie dan tessa di restoran cina! terus ke downtown dan nonton smurf. Entah mengapa semua temen2 gw disini jadi maniak smurf! terus ke Yerba Buena garden yang taunya pernah jadi tempat pidato Martin Luther King, Jr. Terus ke Japantown, makan benihana dan karaoke. Tapi karaokenya agak-agak dodol gitu, ga seenak anjing gembira ato t-rex!

Day 2: ke downtown terus nyobain naik cable car yang antrian nya sepanjang sembako! terus ke lombard liat jalan yang miring-miring itu loh! Terus ke Ghirardelli square buat makan ribs dan es krim *gendut deh. Terus balik ke berkeley.

Day 3, 4, 5, 6: di berkeley! gabutt ngeliatin orang belajar. makan tidur makan tidur minum bubble tea, makan popcorn chicken ato squid.

Day 7: SHOPPING DAY! hahaha menginvasi zara dan f21. di zara ga dapet apa-apa, di f21 dapet yang lumayan banyak!

Day 8: pertama-tama makan rolli roti yang super di idam2kan oleh teman2 saya karena mereka nonton food channel. udah gitu foto2 dan kebelet pipis di farmers market. taunya wcnya semuanya penuh dan ga bisa ke wc! Terus mau ke palace of fine arts tapi kelewatan gara2 ngobrol, jadinya ke golden gate! terus pas ngantri wc eh ketemu doppleganger nya andri! HAHA sayang sekali ga bisa di foto!terus foto-foto dengan latar belakang golden gate. lalu ke sausalito yang rumah2nya bagus bangetttt. BANGET! kayak di tebing gitu. kayak puncak, tapi jauh lebih bagus :') terus ke napa valley. Disini ada yang emte gitu deh, ada traitor gitu yang nyobain banyak wine, sedangkan gw cuman minum jus anggur! tapi tempatnya super bagus sih. kalo uda 21 lebih harus balik lagiiii ahahhahha. terus balik ke sf deh. yang pasti waktu di jalanan ke napa, super cocok sama lagunya one republic yang good life. Super cocok. kayak menenangkan dan comfort. trip hari ini juga rasanya simillar sama trip ke bandung taun lalu, *orang2nya juga sama :) super fun lahhhhh pokoknya

Day 9-13: makan tidur makan gangguin orang belajar bikin macaroon cuci piring

Day 14: hari terakhir kelas summer session di berkeley. lunch di wood tavern, salah satu resto paling oke di berkeley. terus foto2 di kampus berkeley, terus move out dari apartemen yang udah nyaris 2 bulan di tinggalin sama teman-teman! terus naro barang di rumah tantenya babadh dan nganterin andri ke airport. Super sedih.. HIKS. foto si spot imut di international terminalnya SFO :) dadada sama andri. ngobrol sama badi sampe jem 7 pagi. *inilah gw dan badi kalo sekamar berdua, tidurnya jadi parah.

Day 15: ke fort point, kayak benteng kuno di sf gitu, palace of fine arts, sama coit tower, cuman sightseeing aja sih.. tapi seruu banyak foto2 sama makan di resto indo yang mie tekteknya bukan mie tek tek tapi martabaknya enak banget!

Day 16: mager di rumah tante babadh.

Day 17: bangun jem 4 pagi padahal baru tidur jem 2! huahahhahah. farewell :'( nganterin babad dan arman sampe check in flight mereka. HIKS. Sedih banget. terus balik ke toronto deh. gila 17 hari di sf berasanya kayak mimpi. cepet banget. bener2 cepet. dan hari di toronto skrg jadi lama banget. malah pola tidur uda jadi ngacak hahahahha... semoga bisa cepat bertemu lagi yah dengan mereka. AMIN!

GLEE-fully

AKHIRNYA SAYA BISA NONTON GLEE LIVE! OH MY GOD.
Setelah penantian berbulan-bulan, akhirnyaaaaaaaa *teriak lepas

konser dimulai jem 3.00 sore,
jam setengah dua siang saya sudah disana,
pintunya Air Canada Centre belum dibuka.
Di gate utama bahkan antriannya uda kayak sembako,
bahkan di merchandisee booth yg uda buka (baru 1) ngantrinya jg uda kyk ular.
akhirnya gw ngantri di gate 3, pertama2 sepi, eh lama- lama uda rame juga.
akhirnya tepat jam 2 siang, gatenya dibuka,
setelah pemeriksaan security yang cukup ketat (kamera semi pro aja ga boleh masuk, cuman pocket cam yang boleh), saya naik ke lantai 3 untuk mencapai seat nya.
Sebelum itu, saya beli kaos yang mereka pakai di Born This Way (dengan harga 5 dollar lebih mahal dari di US, dan Canadian dollar lagi lebi tinggi dari US). Tadinya mau beli kaosnya finn yang can't dance, tapi ga dijual, jadinya beli kaos mike chang yang can't sing.
Lalu masuk ke arena, ternyata... tempat duduk gw tinggi banget dan nyamping dan aaaaaaaa kesel. tau begini gw beli online aja! Lalu tepat jam 3, opening act nya yaitu LXD, muncul! Super keren! setelah perform 20 menit, lampu nyala lagi dan nunggu 20 menitan lagi buat nunggu glee!
Sebelum mulai, ada video dari Sue Sylvester yang bilang shownya bakal memuakan, jadi dia membagikan "barf bag" alias kantong muntah lewat cheeriosnya. Terus muncul video Mr. Schue ngepresent New Direction dan semua orang teriak- teriak.

Anthem yang cukup okey dari season 2 ini, suka suka suka

Brittany S. Pierce really blow my mind! aa He-Mo okay banget, tapi sebenernya gw lbih pengen nonton dia sama naya nyanyi me against music!
5. Fat Bottomed Girl
Puck! disini ada sam yang main gitar dan finn yang main drum. Mark Sailing never fails lah kalo bawain lagu2 tipe begini!

KURTT! Chris colfer super angelic abis suaranyaaaa. MERINDING!

Merinding! Suaranya mercedes bener powerful! ditambah tipe gospel singing yang ada choir nya!

One of my favourite New Direction's performance on season 2! I also bought Mike Chang's T shirt - can't sing! originally, I want to buy finn's - can't dance, but they did not sell it :(

9. Firework

I don't really like this cover. Lea Michele keren banget sih tapiiiii I don't find her voice suits Katy Perry's song. I prefer she sings broadway style, such as on my own or don't rain on my parade.

Asik sekali! Lagu paling enak kali yah season 2 ini yg di perform bareng-bareng. suka deh.

aaaa lagu season 1 yang epic juga! nomor yang bagus untuk penutup!

Kang en minus band

Ini di Bandung, nyaris setahun lalu

Beberapa hari ini, saya lagi kangen banget sama mereka. Mengapa? Entah. Mungkin karena mereka lagi di Indo kali ya. Hal yang kocak, bahkan sampe kebawa mimpi. Dan itu aneh banget, I saw one of them, got propose and married. That's strange! Itu kayak prekuel gitu bahkan hahaha random abissssss. Jadi mimpi nikah dulu baru mimpi berikutnya dilamar. Haha. strange huh? Apa saya terlalu *ehm* upe? However, it made me think about what will happen let's say 7-8 years from now? Apa masi bisa bareng sama sahabat-sahabat anda? Apa kita bakal ke nikahannya mereka? Apa bisa ngasih speech or leading toast? Hmmm we'll see. Okay, 30 july 2011, you better come faster!
